Ten Healthy (and Super) Game Day Party Foods

When it comes to party foods served on game day, many of us turn to options that are greasy, salty, or super-sweet. Here are ten party foods for the big game that will keep the football fans at your party happy and healthy.

1. Toss together a veggie salad that features the colors of each football team

• Cook up low-fat turkey bacon
• Use lean ground meat

5. Choose a crunchy, whole grain snack like homemade popcorn. Simply pour popcorn kernels in the bottom of a pot, and add canola oil until the oil slightly covers the kernels. Put a top on the pot. Turn the stove on, and let it pop!

6. Bake whole grain pitas or corn tortillas instead of fried chips

7. Get creative with nachos. Here’s one recipe that uses sweet potatoes instead of chips.

8. Satisfy that pizza craving with these cauliflower pizza bites.

9. Need something substantial? Serve a slow-cooker turkey chili or seafood gumbo, and let people top with Greek yogurt, green onions, cilantro, or low-fat cheese
