I stumbled upon a quote from Tom Wilson this week that made me think a lot about finding happiness:
“A smile is happiness you’ll find right under your nose.” -Tom Wilson
It makes me wonder, which comes first: your happiness or your smile? An article published in Scientific American reported on findings that suggest that our facial expressions might our influence emotions. So, is it the act of smiling that brings happiness? Perhaps.
Maybe all of us can find greater happiness with a smile. I know that when I am feeling glum, sometimes the simple act of smiling can lift me right up – and maybe it’s the act of smiling that causes that lift.
Does smiling cause happiness?
Let me know what you think in the comments!
